Mickey Ate My Dinner!

We chose the hotel becos the dinner buffet at one of the restaurant has disney characters wandering around. We thought it would be fun for Siyuan. But he was a little intimated by pluto and goofy, and i guess at the start, he really just wanted his soup and dinner. He kept climbing onto Lux or my chair to get away from them. Later he was better with Mickey and Mini, but then i think it's also becos they were smaller characters. He seemed to recognise them as well as compared with Pluto and Goofy. It was only near the end of the meal, he started calling Pluto dog and making woof woof sound.

The higher the better

I decided to be brave and take a ride with Lux and Siyuan. Siyuan loved it when the car we were in rode up and down wildly. On the video i have, you can hear me in the background going, no, lower, lower, enough, enough!

Then there was the Mad Hatter's cups. Lux braved it. The first time, Siyuan was just happy to sit on it and wave everytime the cup swung by. The second time he took it, he spun it so crazily, Lux had vertigo and all the pics were blurrred..

Candyfrost

His first candyfrost! It took a lot of persuasion before he tried. He just shied away from it, when it was big and fluffy. Lux bought it while we were waiting for the 3:30 p.m. parade. While queueing, a man tried to jump the queue while pretending to talk to Lux. The attendant kept telling him to move back, to the credit of the park. Queue jumping could be rife in the park, but we really liked the staff. They were professional, cool and welcoming. They do make you feel welcome :)

River Cruise

A river cruise in adventureland - everything is fake. so less than impressive after spending time in Australia or even in Singapore's Night Safari. Still, to Siyuan it would be the first time he's seeing them. He wasn't too excited to be sure. I think it's the rides, the wild wild rides he likes, not the tranquil river cruise :)

His first ride!

He wanted to be carried through mainstreet after we had hotdogs. Then he saw the ride! Away he went. Here's him looking longingly at it, and then finally on the ride with Lux.

From the trainstop, we walked down big walkway where the music blasts from the side. Right at the center is the a big fountain! then away into the gate!

Disnyeeeland!

Since Siyuan can say mouse, and it's still early spring (ie it's cool), we decided to spend two days at HK Disneyland. It was drizzling early in the week, but it was clear when we were there. Siyuan was a little grouchy on the first day as he hadn't slept well and didn't have a good breakfast. We also ended up snacking most of the day, so again no proper lunch. Still, he did 7 rides that day, and we attended the parade :)
Lux did most of the rides with him since I do get motion sickness.
We stayed over at one of the hotels, where dinner was accompanied by four cartoon characters. The second day was much better, nicer sunlight, good breakfast to kick off Siyuan's day. Much more cheereful.
Still, no matter if he was tired, sleepy or grouchy, when it's ride time, he's always happy!

Hats and Caps

Siyuan will not wear a cap or hat for much of his second year, but upon turning two, he decided he can suffer to wear this cap, which is now somewhat smaller for him.

counting

learning to count. He can now count to ten, and then he would laugh like count dracula in sesame street. That's my fault. haha. He does mix up his five and six, eight and nine though.

cream cream!

Siyuan can say cream, which stands for ice cream. Once we were discussing what to do in the afternoon and I said to go out for ice cream. Upon hearing that word, siyuan ran into the kitchen, open the freezer and came running out with a small tub of ice cream :) He loves it and know where it is.

Siyuan's bike

We got him a bike for his birthday. Here's a pic of Siyuan and Lux at the little podium at the bottom of the apartments. It's a nice little place, with small fountains, garden paths, a playground (under renovation for the past month), a turtle pond as well as some space for kids to run around and play.
